Candy Science is fun!

This week, some of our classes experimented with Candy Corn. We put candy corn in mixtures with vinegar/ water, salt water, baking soda/ water and plain water to see what would happen. First we made our hypothesis then put in the candy corn. While we waited to see what happened, we watched a video too see how candy corn is made. We then wrote a summary about what happened to the candy corn. Finally, we taste tested fresh candy corn! Science can be delicious.

Moon Sand Science

As promised, I tried a recipe for Moon Sand today. It was much cheaper to make than the $19.95 it is listed for on Amazon. Not as good quality, but fun either way to play with (and it smells amazing)! Extension activities to go with this include using your fraction knowledge to double the recipe or try different food coloring colors to make new color. Have fun (make sure you ask for permission before you try it). Ps. You need more than a few drops of food coloring to make a bold color! Stay safe! Ms. Lora
