Next Monday, May 25 is Memorial Day in the United States. Our book and craft today is all about Memorial Day. Our goal today "I can tell one informational detail about Memorial Day".

It is a Super Saturday! I know some of my students are coloring eggs or making art projects at home. So, I wanted to share a book about a young lady who dreams of being a scientist and how she learns to incorporate art into her science experiments. There are so many extension activities you can do with this book! Mixing colors to make new colors with water colors or egg dye. Design something new or sketch an idea you have. Mix up some ingredients and make a delicious treat (yes, food can be art). Have fun and share with me what you are doing science-rific! I hope you enjoy this STREAM activity! Grades K-6. Moon Sand Science

As promised, I tried a recipe for Moon Sand today. It was much cheaper to make than the $19.95 it is listed for on Amazon. Not as good quality, but fun either way to play with (and it smells amazing)! Extension activities to go with this include using your fraction knowledge to double the recipe or try different food coloring colors to make new color. Have fun (make sure you ask for permission before you try it). Ps. You need more than a few drops of food coloring to make a bold color! Stay safe! Ms. Lora
