The last two weeks we have been exploring our Five Senses. Some classes used their 5 senses to explore popcorn. Other classes made Texture T explorations to experiment with touch.

It is a Super Saturday! I know some of my students are coloring eggs or making art projects at home. So, I wanted to share a book about a young lady who dreams of being a scientist and how she learns to incorporate art into her science experiments. There are so many extension activities you can do with this book! Mixing colors to make new colors with water colors or egg dye. Design something new or sketch an idea you have. Moon Sand Science

As promised, I tried a recipe for Moon Sand today. It was much cheaper to make than the $19.95 it is listed for on Amazon. Not as good quality, but fun either way to play with (and it smells amazing)! Extension activities to go with this include using your fraction knowledge to double the recipe or try different food coloring colors to make new color. Have fun (make sure you ask for permission before you try it). Ps. You need more than a few drops of food coloring to make a bold color! Stay safe! Ms. Lora
